We spread the new aggregate to nicely level the north path by the fence, repaired the hose-dolly and broken planter, cut grass and removed all vine weed south path by CPR fence, watered and trimmed every tree in the park with wood mulch (looks great), cleaned up behind shed and spread balance of aggregate near shed/pick-nik table to enlarge the common area.

A meeting of the executive is taking place this monday evening AUG 18th at 6:30 PM on site to discuss current issues. 1) Poor attendance at Work Bees 2) Results from last Thurs meeting with City Parks & Health Depts re old contamination in park/enclosures 3) Fund-raising 4) Improving our soil quality with organic only products manure and seaweed fertilizer 5) Questionaire to members re who’s returning next year and who’s not 6) Fall harvest event 7) Eventual election of new executive officers of Group Oct 31st.

This meeting is open to all interested in the affairs of our Community Garden and Park. I apologize for the short notice to members as this was originally an exective meeting only.

I made a sad discovery one day last week when I went to water – one of the wheels on the hose dolly is broken and only marginally functional.

Accidents happen, but please, if something breaks when you’re using it, let us know so we can look into fixing it. Even better, volunteer to get it fixed yourself – we may have a small budget, but it can cover minor repairs.

On the same day, I also had to spend about 20 minutes untangling the hose – the person who used it before me had done a very messy job of winding the dolly. Again, please, treat the garden property like your own and be mindful of the next person who has to use it.
